In Loving Memory
KONA
When our neighbors transformed this once-ugly spot into a beautiful garden, I knew I wanted to contribute something meaningful. I donated this planter in memory of Kona, my beloved boxer who passed away unexpectedly in February, and in honor of his brother Buddy, who still walks by my side.
Kona and Buddy have always been my “garden supervisors”—sniffing every plant, stealing sunny spots, and keeping me company whether I was planting my first garden in Northwest Indiana or strolling through the neighborhood here. This planter is a way to root Kona’s spirit in a place of beauty, while celebrating the joy both dogs have brought into my life, blooming now in a space that brings beauty to the whole community.
