On November 13, 2024, my beloved brother Ricardo passed away unexpectedly in Mexico City at the age of 62. His sudden departure left our entire family in shock and sorrow..
In the days that followed, I prayed and asked God for a sign—some way to honor him and give light to his journey toward heaven. Only three days later, God answered when I met Israel, who shared with me the vision of the Chicago Native Garden Project. Without hesitation, I knew this was my path. Through my donation, I was blessed with the opportunity to dedicate a beautiful container filled with native plants, where I could honor the memory of my beloved “Ricky Boy.”
Ricky was one of my first true “Masters of Life,” teaching me lessons of love, strength, and resilience. You will forever live in my heart, dear brother. I send you a hug all the way to heaven.
